What attracted me to WaterFire was the uniqueness and involvement with WATER and FIRE! The most important work WaterFire does is attract people to attend Art Events and meet and mingle with those who create art. To have people EXPERIENCE art. Not stand back and look from afar but to get involved and drawn into it, which is exactly what WaterFire does. My motivation that keeps me involved is the enormity of WaterFire and the scope and breadth of its reach and effect on the public who attends the lightings and has NO IDEA of what it takes and how much effort the volunteers put in. It really is like a secret society.

In addition, I'm flattered that Barnaby respects my ideas and solutions to some of his projects and I feel extremely valuable and respected.
